I was debating whether to change this blog into a personal site and I decided against it becasue I'd get bored and then close it down. So I thought about it and choose to make it a debate blog. Every week or so I will but up a Conrtoversial Issue then Everybody Posts up with the side there on and why. I think this will fun but don't take it TOO seriously.

I'll say that I'm pro at the moment, as I believe that by studying these human parts and experimenting we learn a lot.
Specifically, on the idea of cloning, I think it would allow us to bring back species in specific situations that could help feed some of the people around the world. Or at very least, I get to find out what dinosaur tastes like.
i don't like the idea of cloning. I think its too much like playing god.
cloning is making an identical copy of a persons DNA... Identical twins have the exact same DNA code... DNA doesn't determine who some one is. CLoning could have it's uses, and it could have it's down fall. It's a tool. It's up to the user to determine if they'll use it for good or bad...
Stem Cell Research...I don't know, I can't say one way or another...
While I agree with stem cell research, cloning isn't something I can condone. Why? Because I could only assume that clones themselves would have souls. Whilst it would appear to be a good idea to have a "backup" per say, to harvest spare parts and what not should you get sick, or maybe alcohol has destroyed your liver, or for whatever reason, I can't honestly say that it wouldn't make me sick to my stomach to know that you're screwing with something that has a soul of it's own.
PLaying Devil's Advocate
Why do we need "back ups" or spare part, we have over populated the world already and people are living decades longer then they normally would. Couldn't the time and money of those scientists be better spent on trying to find a cleaner energy source or a way to feed the hungry?
Totally. But I feel the same way about space expoloration. Billions of dollars to go visit a seemingly uninhabitable rock, when things here on earth need so much more attention.
Lawrence I woul dhave to agree with your point completely. We have already over populated this earth and instead of focusing our effort to finding ways of taking care of it, we instead are looking at ways to live longer. It will not matter if some scientist somewhere finds the Elixor of Life-Everlasting; if we continue to kill our earth than we will not have a place to live anyway.
